Tramex Concrete Moisture Meters, known as the Concrete Moisture Encounters, analyze the moisture conditions of the top 3/4” of a concrete slab, giving instant and quantitative readings of the percentage of Moisture Content by weight. Our Concrete Meters use Gravimetric testing as a baseline and have been recognized by international test agencies for their accuracy. Coatings, adhesives and even floating floors are in direct contact with the top of the concrete. Moisture testing of this top ¾” layer is critical to the successful installation of a floor covering as the vast majority of moisture issues come from moisture at or near this bond line.
Providing In-Situ Moisture Content Readings In A Tramex Unified Moisture Content Test Method
Tramex Concrete Moisture Meters, do not only analyze the top ¾” of a concrete slab to give an instant indication of the percentage of Moisture Content by weight. They can also be used with the Tramex Concrete Moisture Probe aka The Determinator for in-situ moisture content readings.
Testing and comparing the %MC in both the top ¾” layer and within the body of the concrete helps determine if the concrete is dry enough to receive a floor covering or coating, and if moisture is coming from above or below the concrete slab surface. In addition, use the Tramex CMEX5 to test ambient RH, temperature and dew-point readings, and to perform the ASTM F2170 in-situ RH test for a complete picture.
This complete concrete testing system provides the most comprehensive information available for any flooring professional to both identify and eliminate moisture issues, as well as comply with international standards for the floor covering industry.
